As such, we make sure to hold respect for both animals and people by treating our employees fairly in every sense of the word. From paying fair wages to covering health care expenses, scholarships and beyond, we aim to serve our employees just as they serve us day in and day out. As a result, we’ll better the product, better the process and better the community along the way. With each egg you whisk, cure or fry, you can know that you, too, have hands in it all.
our story
The modest beginning of the eggscellent farm is one worth noting. It all started with a chicken barn in a residential backyard, where nine happy chickens produced eggs. The idea of an ethical business such as this was innovative to the region, and has since grown to make an impact no backyard could contain.
The eggscellent farm is located in a landmine-infested area in remote Cambodia. Only after demining the farm site could farming the happy eggs begin. To this day, the area surrounding our demined land is still covered with landmines. However, eggscellent has transformed the land on which the farm rests in order to redefine its purpose for the better.
Srey Neang has been with eggscellent since the beginning. She used to run the sales in Siem Reap as a one-woman-show. Now she is the leader and in charge of two teams of mostly women in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh.
Soan helped David and a team of volunteers construct the first barn at the very beginning. Ever since then he is our farm manager and is responsible for the team and all the chickens and equipment on the farm.

With a farm located in the remote, impoverished countryside of Cambodia as well as a distribution centers set in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh, we can provide employment for a range of Cambodian people from within our very own community.
Not only do we seek to empower Cambodians through the creation and maintenance of job opportunities, but we also hope to teach a new animal-friendly way of farming eggs. We aim to be a part of a greater push toward sustainability and ethical treatment of humans and animals in the Cambodian farming community.
